Water supply is the provision of water by public utilities,
commercial organisations, community endeavors or by individuals, usually via a system of
pumps and pipes. Mission is to ensure all rural households have access to and use of
safe and sustainable drinking water and improved sanitation facilities by providing
support to state in their endeavor to provide these basic facilities and services.
Pollution and environmental degradation have
reached alarming dimensions due to poverty, deforestation, industrial development without
adequate environmental safeguards, and sheer greed. Major pollutants and critically affected
areas have been identified. Pollution control of water, air, and land has been established
by both official and private organizations and the work on environmental protection is
Rural hospitals are a critical, yet vulnerable, part of our national
healthcare delivery system. They provide emergency department services, inpatient care,
outpatient care, long-term care, and care coordination services. Unique circumstances,
characteristics, and challenges of rural hospitals have resulted in different approaches to
healthcare than those used in an urban environment.
Majority of India still lives in villages and so
the topic of rural education in India is of utmost importance. Every child has access to an
education and that they are never denied this right. They have right to enrol in education
and to be supported to transition between and complete their education.
Women constitute 48 per cent of the total population in
India. They suffer many disadvantages as compared to men in literary rates, labour
participation rates and earnings. The development of women has been receiving attention of
the Government of India from the First Plan. But it was treated as a subject of welfare and
clubbed together with the welfare of the disadvantaged groups like destitute, disabled,
The disabilities that a person
experiences in the course of ageing are multiple in nature. For some, ageing enhances status
and enriches life satisfaction, but for many others, it may be difficult and problematic.The
Constitution of India has guaranteed the full protection to the rights of disabled people.
The Scheme of Government of India, simplifies and facilitates procedure for easy access to
govt. support for NGOs with the aim to widen the scope and range of programmes. It will
address the unmet needs of the over 95 Indian citizens with disabilities who have not had
access to services so far.
A skill is the ability to carry out a task with pre-determined
results often within a given amount of time, energy, or both. The main objective is to
upgrade skills to international standards through significant industry involvement and
develop necessary frameworks for standards, curriculum and quality assurance.
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene WASH are some of
the most basic needs for human health and survival. WASH can also be crucial components in
freeing people from poverty. Drinking water supply and sanitation in India continue to be
inadequate, despite longstanding efforts by the various levels of government and communities
at improving coverage. A number of innovative approaches to improve water supply and
sanitation have been tested in India.
