Inspection of Mines

IBM and the State government officials undergo mine inspections to ensure the mining activities undertaken by the concessionaires in accordance with statutory provisions. Violation letters are issued and reports are prepared for each of the inspections carried out. The system will have a provision for accessing the database through handheld devices like tablets for submission of the reports and violation letters. Previous inspection data and relevant proposals from mining plan for verification in the field will be fetched and it will also have provision to call the data from returns filed.

About the Ministry

Ministry of Mines is responsible for survey and exploration of all minerals, other than natural gases, petroleum and atomic minerals, for mining and metallurgy of non-ferrous metals like aluminium, copper, zinc, lead, gold, nickel, etc. and for administration of the Mines and Minerals (Regulation and Development) Act, 1957 in respect of all mines and minerals other than coal, natural gas and petroleum.
